Blue Chip Jelani Sarr Signs with Men’s Tennis
Jelani Sarr of Savannah, GA is a recipient of the Southern Tennis Foundation Junior Financial Assistance program. As a top-junior player he received a full ride to the University of South Carolina. He trained at the Van Der Meer Academy. A home-school student athlete, Jelani has been chasing a tennis dream that began at three years of age, when his stepfather introduced him to the sport. He joined Gamecocks in January 2023 and was the nation’s No. 10 recruit in the class of 2023 and the No. 1 recruit in the state of Georgia. He was considered the No. 16 junior in the US and No. 93 junior in the world in 2022. He competed in The Junior Championships at Wimbledon and the US Open Junior Championships in 2022.
